Mortgage Rescue

WWHA commenced our involvement in the Welsh Assembly mortgage rescue scheme in January 2009. Since this time we have worked across Wales to assist families at risk of losing their homes.

We have worked closely with local authorities and debt advice agencies to ensure stable financial futures for our applicants.

Since funding ended for the Welsh Government mortgage rescue scheme we have invested further funds in an Association funded scheme to ensure that assistance continues to be provided to those in greatest need.

To date WWHA has:

  • Purchased 28 properties outright – where the residents have now become our tenants
  • Completed 24 loans to enable the occupiers to remain in their properties as owners

Wales & West Housing Association has invested around £2m on mortgage rescue to date. We continue to accept applications from individuals or support providers.

If you would like to apply for assistance as part of our mortgage rescue scheme please contact 0800 052 2526.
